Nice that the weather is kinda cold & rainy, they can do most of the taco-bending inside and keep the wear down on the Federal Blvd. asphalt--

Wow. Nice racial/derogatory comment.

Maybe your judgment of my intent is is flawed? Or maybe you have not tried to make your way down Federal when the 5th of May is a nice day? Or maybe you will close this thread since you are an admin? :)

Yes, your comment was derogatory, so this calls for a history lesson that my best friend just taught me when I asked him if he was going to celebrate "Cinco de Mayo?"

In the 1960s, Chicano activists in Colorado promoted a boycott of Coors beer in response to employment discrimination against Latinos at Coors breweries. Coors had two problems. They had to fix their image with Latino consumers, and they had to figure out some way to get college students to drink more beer in May. The solution: start sponsoring Cinco de Mayo! Thus, even though Mexicans in Mexico celebrate their independence day on September 15th and 16th, Mexican-Americans are more likely to celebrate the May 5th anniversary of the Battle of the Puebla, which is not even commemorated with a national holiday in Mexico. In fact, the Battle of the Puebla was a skirmish in the Pastry War, a French intervention in Mexico that began because a French chef demanded several thousand pesos to compensate him for Mexican military officers looting his pastry supply.

I suppose we could go ask everyone cruzing federal why they are celebrating a pastry war:confused:

You are making me wonder if you might be a Liberal with "Little man syndrome", but I hope that is not the case. I did know about May 5 not being Mexican independence day, but thanks anyway.

My point is, some person(s), or some machine has to be a taco-bender, or wouldn't all tacos just be plain ol' tostadas??

My intuition tells me that the owner of the place that causes most taco shells to be bent into the traditional "U" shape is not even a Mexican, but named Cohen or Schwartz.:)

The sun started to come out about an hour ago, but I did a rain dance and now it is cloudy again. I hate to see them wasting all that gas over on Federal. I need enough for myself so I can get to the Tancredo rally tomorrow after church---

Thats pretty funny :D However it is extremely hard to know what anyone is trying to get across when using "slang" words... Thus life might be easier in the forum world by not using them. I understand you meant no harm, but to someone might take it the wrong way, and that seems to happen very often here.

Once again can we get back on track and discuss the radio usage surrounding this event?

Thank you

Sounds like the weather might be keeping people in this weekend, or the threat of ICE being out and about. Anyone have ears on the Federal level of this?
