IL State Police Dist.11 area, including Troy IL, went digital about two years ago. Radio Ref. seems to stop with their digital listings about mid state down from Chicago.
Does anyone know where a complete up to date listing can be found for this area??

You should ask in the Illinois forum. By the way, frequencies are neither digital or analog. They can be used for any type modulation.

west central Illinois is either going to be the 1xx or 2xx sites in the database its just a matter of finding the best tower around you to monitor. all of the Illinois state police dispatch centers are now digital and using StarCom21 here is a link to it StarCom21 Statewide Illinois P25 Trunking System, Statewide, Illinois - Scanner Frequencies . If you need area specific information I will try and help you with that as well just let me know what your looking to accomplish monitoring and what kind of radio you are using and ill be more than happy to help.

Thanks, I have a Radio Shack Pro-106 Digital portable scanner. I'm new to the digital age. Looking to program radio for ISP Dist 11, Troy PD, Madison County, and any others using the StarCom-21 system.

I've been to the link you suggested. This is what I get.

Hate to sound like a real D/A, but I thought I needed freq. #'s

Sonsone;
You need to set the trunked system up first then assign the talkgroups to it. The freqs (774.30625, 854.98750 type numbers) are set in the trunked system and then set the talkgroups (17001, 17002 etc.) up as scannable objects in a scan list.

before we get ahead of ourselves are you using software and if so what software are you using i could put something together for you i have both Win500 and arc500 pro either software package will make programming allot easier for you and I use both so which ever you choose i can help with. just let me know what town you are in and where it is in Madison county, north,south, east, west what ever side you think you are in so i can find good towers for your area. just let me know and Ill be more than happy to help you get started. if your not using software email me with your phone number and ill walk you through programming it manually Im just not up to that much typing,LOL. let me know how you want to do this and Ill help you get set up with what ever you need.

By the time you find software you could have it programmed * manually* ?
It's easier than you think, plus you'll learn a great deal more about the pro-106 while doing it! :wink:
Hmmm, still want to spend those $$$ ?
