Just departed Disney World and arrived in Clearwater Beach on vacation.

Was pleasantly disappointed to see that ALL park operations - security, ops, everything, were using Nextel handsets. All were hooked up to normal Motorola Speakers, or ear pieces. What a bummer that we can't listen to anything related to the parks.

Here in the Tampa Metro area - everything is well "monitorable" which is great news for this area. Got Pinellas County TRS and Clearwater all programmed up quite nicely. I see there are a number of talkgroups that need to be updated on the Pinellas System ;-)

Yuo, the only thing to monitor is the wireless mics and the wireless intercom headsets used in the various shows.

The only non-Nextel radios that I saw were Motorola UHF units used by the parade staff. Unfortunately I did not have my scanner and could not verify frequencies. This information was valid as of this past March when I was at the Magic Kingdom.

Hello;

I noticed that as well,
Just about every Disney World Resort - Park was using Nextel as primary communications.

Blizzard Beach
MGM Studios
Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Walt Disney World - Transportation (Buses)
Walt Disney World Monorail System

Many others, While standing in line noticed some employees were monitoring other people so they must be using a "Group" option for some departments. I seen the i503's were being used at our resort along with a palm type unit. Even the transportation - Buses and the Monorail systems were using some type of Group talk.
