Some county dispatchers do this, just depends on the county. My county does not but the county next to me does.

Mine does alot, and I think it has to do with their CAD or Computer aided dispatching.

this has been on here before and some have even mentioned the dispatcher uses it as an acknowledgment.
i have heard it done for so long, it is like it predated clocks.
might have been that on tape playback there was no time stamp
