Is the paid BCD996 P2 firmware DMR upgrade still available??
I am looking for a DMR scanner that has a PC interface to record and log DMR traffic.
The 996 and FreeScan does this well.

Yes, register your scanner and purchase the upgrade at this link:

The upgrade is already in the firmware, you purchase digital keys to unlock it. Just be aware that Freescan is no longer supported, and is not fully compatible with DMR.

Give ProScan a try... an incredible amount of features for a very good price:

Plus Proscan is still very much supported & app updates are released regularly. Freescan lists right there on their downloads page that support for the 996P2 is "experimental" and the project was abandoned in 2015. If it works fine for you then great. If not, there is an alternative
