Hi,

So I have the DMR/TRBO upgrade on my BCD325P2 and I programmed a system which was recently updated to reflect a confirmed LCN. However, after programming it, I haven't heard any activity. I assume if it was encrypted, you'd still hear traffic but it would be unreadable, could this be a range issue? I live about 7-10 miles away from the refinery so I'm not really sure. Any help is appreciated.

System in question

None of the traffic I heard last week was encrypted. You want to make sure you are in "search" mode in your radio. I wasn't able to fully identify the talkgroup uses but you can put the following in your list and that would help too:

100
101
104
105
108
110
111 (most used)
112
605
606 (2nd most used)

Thank you. I have it programmed as a mototrbo trunked system with the very first settings found on the site info. I’ll check to make sure but i’m pretty sure it’s on ID search.

I'm everywhere Focker!
I believe you are on the HoustonScan group. Maybe ask over there as I think several members live in the area. I'm in Ft Bend County so I'm too far away to receive it.

Yep I’m apart of that group. I asked about activity a few days ago but I’ll see if they can help me with this. Thanks.

Do you have it programmed as a mototrbo trunked system or a one freq trunk system?

If you aren't hearing the signal, then a better antenna is called for. Preferably outdoors and away from obstructions.

On the programming side, we haven't had a whole lot of discussions on the P2 scanners and Mototrbo, but what we have is documented here...

and while the technology is slightly different between the P2 and x36 scanners, reading thru the linked threads for One Frequency Trunking and MOTOTRBO programming might suggest some ways to solve your issues;

This system needs to be a DMR Trunked or MotoTRBO trunked. Its a "Connect plus" system, so does have a control channel. It was on 464.0375 when I was in the area last week.

Thanks, I have the control channel programmed in as a mototrbo system but I think it’s more of an antenna issue like ka3jjz said above. Currently have a remtronix portable antenna indoors so I’ll experiment a little.

Thanks.

Must be very low-range system if you can't hear it from a few miles away. I'm definitely too far to hear it near Pearland. I might be in Texas City in July so I'll try it then if not sometime before.
Wonder if you are near a source of strong UHF signal that is overloading your receiver. But if you are just using inside antenna, probably not the case. Is that Remtronix for 800 MHz?

I forget the exact model number but yes it’s a remtronix 800mhz antenna.
