DMR question

I'm thinking about getting my G2 upgraded to DMR. I understand they don't trunk track, just decode voice frequencies, like the Whistler scanners, correct? My question is: do I just put in the voice channels or do I also need to put in alternate CC's. I'm trying to Rx a DMR Connect plus trunking system. I know on P25 T systems, alternate CC's are sometimes used for voice, don't know if DMR systems do the same thing.

DMR conventional only...G2 will not do trunking. Only way around it is to program all the voice channels individually to both time slots, assign the talkgroup you want to scan and then scan all of them conventionally.

I tried this on a local connect plus system. Its very slow and didnt work well. Also the busier the system the more you will miss as it stops on active channels to check for traffic. At least thats how i remember it a few years ago..
If you truly want to monitor a connect plus system get a scanner with DMR like the BCD436.

It's a utility, so there is not a lot of traffic unless there is a weather event, so that should not be an issue. I had a PSR 800 upgraded to a WS-1080 & it worked well with just voice channels.
I do have a 436HP & a SDS100, but I think the G2 is WAY more sensitive than the 436 & especially the SDS100. I also like the LONG battery life, color display & the form factor of the G2. The only use the SDS100 gets is going through a discharge / charge cycle every couple weeks.
