Is RR having some sort of DNS issue? I'm unable to reach the site via any home computers, a work computer, and also through some proxies. I'm currently using a proxy and it is working to get to the site off the same laptop I have been trying to use all day and I can get it through my cell phone's internet. I'm also unable to stream my feeds, they can't find any of the RR servers. Nothing has changed in my router/switch/firewall config and I have flushed DNS from all servers & routers.

Anyone point me in some sort of direction on what's going on?

It appears that our DNS provider experienced a denial of service attack yesterday evening for about 3 hours. They have since mitigated the issue and resolved the problem.

It looking at our logs and traffic reports, we didn't see any noticeable decrease in traffic, however I suspect that some folks did indeed experience DNS problems.

I'm still having issues with the site and streaming. I flushed DNS this Morning on everything too.

Fyi-
It cleared it up for me around 10am CDT. It also seems that my ISP had a nasty little outage this weekend too, I don't know if it's the same one that affected you or not DNS wise.

FWIW, OpenDNS | Internet Navigation And Security Read about all it has to offer before you call me a pinhead please.

Intelligent Navigation

* SmartCache
OpenDNS's proprietary DNS caching technology finds and locates the last known good IP address for Web sites that are experiencing difficulty, making Web sites that are down for the rest of the Internet load for OpenDNS users.

Using bind, and three separate DNS providers makes a network more robust. Comodo offers DNS too, but may not have all the same features.

BIND on Windows

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/64247/ Toss this out there too. I don't use it much because there are not a lot of sites that use this technology at the moment. But there you go...

Well that's odd, you shouldn't have had any DNS errors. OpenDNS would have used the last know IP address lookup, you'd think. Perhaps you don't have an account? You just use the two DNS IP address instead? Then again, I know the stream's address never stays the same for some reason.

Not sure if it was a DDoS attack. http://forums.radioreference.com/computer/189862-google-down.html#post1375560

You don't need an OpenDNS account to use OpenDNS. You need only plug their two DNS server IP addresses into your router config or netcard config and you're done.

Nope, I have an OpenDNS account because I use it for filtering (which I verified was working while there was a DNS outage).

The DNS settings are specified on my DNS server internally, which all the clients (including the RR Server) pick up through DHCP.

Then it wasn't a DNS issue. It appears that from reading your first post that some site proxies worked... so that must mean a router or something along the path was out.

I'm currently using a proxy and it is working to get to the site off the same laptop I have been trying to use all day and I can get it through my cell phone's internet.

These are my clues. I know the provider "said" there was a DDoS attack, but maybe, just maybe that was preliminary thinking on their part? Look at the link I posted above. Of course the dates are off, but perhaps it was the software Cisco was messing around with all along.

Just like Comcast here in Colorado. Apparently we are a test bed for new technologies. Which is something I'm not too flattered about.
