If I recall correctly the Dodge County cell was supposed to come online for testing back in 2020. They kept working on the physical infrastructure through the early COVID panic, so surprised it has taken this long.

Drove through Dodge Co this morning and their sites are active with voice transmissions now. I did not hear any radio traffic on the sheriff's office VHF repeaters. I believe the patch has been taken down and law enforcement is now using ORION system. Was only listening to the system for a short period of time. If anyone local could verify that the patch is no longer active. Unknown if any of the volunteer rural fire departments are using ORION yet. Last I heard Dodge, Scribner, and Snyder were not going to use ORION. This morning Scribner and Snyder were still using their UHF repeaters.

Im in fremont. I can confirm the Sheriff is no longer using 155.670. All the rural fire departments in dodge county, inluding fremont, are still using their analog frequencies.

I am located in Fremont Nebraska, I am new to scanning and am using a bcd436 Uniden scanner that I luckily happen to do the favorite list on computer and ended up getting the local Orion frequencies police, fire, ems ect yet found the local trunk frequencies received i would say every transmission flawlessly and the Orion I was missing allot, well with that said the past almost 2 months I have been unable to receive anything local, no pd fire ems, still getting state patrol and the trunked one i was using i cant get back, I've redone my favorites many times over with nothing and pretty much at a loss. sure wish there was a scanner class from the git go to truly explain what all the categories in each column means and does when using the sentinel program and explaining the favorites and the how to edit the channels basically 101 scanner school lol, anyway I don't know what or how I happened to get lucky when I got this scanner about may this year, cause whatever I did it worked! i didn't even get to learn the hard way and like the ole saying goes if it aint broke don't fix it so I just listened now I'm at a wall and I really want to learn but want my locals back at same time. sorry this is so long winded but it has sat now a $400 dollar toy for over a month in the corner. anyone out there willing to lend a green new enthusiast a hell of a hand out it would be very appreciated. thanks in advance...

Go through you programming again. Make sure you have the Dodge County simulcast programmed into it with the following frequencies

853.150c853.375c853.6625c853.9125c

The site in Fremont now uses these frequencies as well. Also, since Dodge county is simulcast you might be getting simulcast distortion (someone else might be able to explain it better than me) but basically you are receiving multiple transmissions on the same frequency at the same time and the scanner can not decode it properly. The newer Uniden SDS series scanners handle this flawlessly. I have driven through Dodge county multiple times since their simulcast sites have been in use and my SDS 200 work flawlessly.

thanks to everyone reaching out and quickly responding to my delima. I tried several things and ended up coming to the conclusion I'm battling simulcast distortion issues! after exhaustive trial and errors creating and resetting 436, I drove around town which isn't big and got many transmissions locked on to the main frequency I really wanted went home and nothing, started playing around with the couple of antennas and locations and got hits here and there nothing really consistently and started researching common reception issues and the simulcast distortion symptoms describes exactly what seems to be plaguing me. I'm still extremely new to scanning and wish some of you ole' timers in scanning would start a school for us scanner dummies lol. I moved less than a mile from my previous address that worked great with all channels I wanted, to this residence that has this issue, so happens its near the airport here and over train tracks as well. I purchased a tram roof antenna that I put up but I received no p25 simulcast at all not even one bar signal so obviously its wrong for what I want to listen to the car mount antenna I have so far picks up spotty transmissions of all things. I'm researching distortion fixes as well as another antenna to hopefully help. any advice I would appreciate..
