New owner of a Uniden BC246T. I want to put an antenna on my car (2000 Taurus) but dont want it to look overpowering. One of my co-workers has an on-the-glass mounting scanner antenna that looks just like his cell antenna... its low profile and the design is the same. (He doesn't remember where he got it or the brand) I've searched online but haven't found anything. Anyone on here use one and/or know where to purchase one?? He said people were skeptical about him getting one because the quality wasn't good. We live in the Des Moines metro area (Iowa) and he said he doesn't have any complaints about quality. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Glass Antenna

I'm using two on the glass antennas. Both are used for TRANSMIT and RECEIVE and I have no problems with either of them at all.

I'm running in the UHF (400Mhz area) band with both of them.

One is used for a Motorola CDM1250 UHF 40 watt mobile. The other is for my "in car" repeater - actually a "mobile radio extender" (UHF to VHF) for my Hi band mobile.

They are both LARSEN brand antennas.

What make antenna is that you have mounted on your Tahoe? Can I get a name and part#. Only reason I don't go with the standard glass mount is, there too long for my taste. The one in your photo would look nice if it works on a scanner.
Thanks
Dan
