Hello everybody,

I have a uniden 996T that i recently tried setting up in my place, it was installed in my car for quite sometime then i opted to bring it back inside as a desktop. Lately I've noticed that it doesn't seem to be decoding my MOT2 800 MHz/p25 system in my area it has full signal, and iv'e set it up along near my Pro 106 to test them and i tuned them to the same trunked system, the Pro 106 picked up the signal; no audio came from the 996T. The 996T does pick up analog signals fine, as a matter of fact i'm tuned to my local airports tower and listening fine??

I believe i programmed my system correct, i tired erasing the memory bank on my 996T and reloading the info again yet nothing has changed.

is it time for my 996T to goto Uniden :(

I would double and triple check all the settings before boxing her up for a trip to the factory.

i messed around with the decode settings; now it its able to decode a MOT2/800 MHZ trunked system. Any other suggestions for fine tunning the P25 decode?

So now i'm pretty confused about this whole ordeal, now the 996T occasionally stops on local PD's trunk groups and decodes it with clear audio. The pro 106 picks up channels crystal clear, and i've set them up up on the same trunk group the 996T will just sit on the group with full signal and not decode them.?? in other words the 996T is partially deaf compared to my handheld 996t, it will not tune and decode to the same channels that i manually set it to, i've adjusted the P25 to both manual and auto and the response time, turned off the attenuator to see if it has any effect. It just keeps going through the scan list.

I tried the manual reset option, wiped the 996t's memory out. I didn't change the firmware out though, still the same result occurs :(. reflashed the memory with the programming for the trunk system.
