After a fatal system crash and start over, I am having nothing but problems re-installing DSD+ with fastlane.
I recued my installation but a coppy just won't work, infact, nothing goes the way the documentation explains it.
I sure would like to get this fixed. I downloaded my original fastlane file but it is not like the original at all. no way to install it.

You need the public 1.101 files from the website
Then the latest fastlane files. In the notes it says you need another file (can’t think of name) but the notes.txt has it in there to be downloaded

I got that download, my original password opens it, but it is the source and I am just not that into compiling.
Gues I just need to dig up documentation.

DSD+ does not send out "source" files, and nothing needs "compiling". Just send them an email and ask for the full Fast Lane package, simple.

Golly, if I would have known they were giving out the source, I would have asked for another download . Anyways, all kidding aside, as GTR8000 said, it isn't the source. You're probably thinking of OP25 on Linux.

Any event, I got what I need and this is 'sort of' working. I am using the new GUI also, buttons instead of command lines.
@ GTR8000,, I got a different fastlane zip file, and this one is more like it.
(looks like the password you get opens all the zip files, updates no doubt.

Hey, this is open source stuff on github.

If you are looking for files on github, you are looking at the original DSD, not DSD+ which is a different program based on the original.

I am also a user since the beginning, in fact I was the one who introduced it to this forum years ago. No source for me.

Indeed you did LOL. I had forgotten about that. Hard to believe it's been almost 8 years ago now.

I've been a Fast Lane user since the very start...I've never gotten any "source files". Sounds like a case of operator error to me.
Well, I just got my fastlane last year, a link to download and password to unzip the file. It is loaded with files to compile, but no one even mentioned the large internal zip file has the DLL you add to DSD and now you got fast lane. funny they sent along all these un-needed files.
The operator error is the lack of instructions(none) ,like here's the file,[end]
I finally found that link to the PDF guide right here on RR and funny none of you FL experts even mention it.

You're using the wrong term. Nothing is compiled by the user when it comes to DSDPlus. And FL experts didn't mention the PDF because FL experts don't need it :) And in fact, I had no clue about that PDF. I probably ought to take a look at it.

Glad it's working for you now. Perhaps at this point you can start to enjoy life instead of grumbling, but I'm doubtful.

Listen to me closely now and "PAY ATTENTION"--NEVER did I say anything had to be compiled, that was something I presumed from the source files in the zip downloaded from DSD website. Now I may not be much of a coder, but here is a small list of ""SOURCE FILES"" within the zip
two years ago, I didn't even know DSD existed or what it was. Sorry,,I was not borne knowing all, and had to learn all this stuff myself. ask experts an look at the garbage you get.
I am not grumbling, just a bit POed at all this negativity and resistance in just asking for some help.
I NEVER GOT IT,, I had to figure all this out for myself.
DSD+ does not send out "source" files
If I am wrong, feel free to correct me but you got fastlane, what the hell are these????
(I am finished with this thread, TNX 73s)

Those are header files from third party libraries, not the source for DSD+ or FL. Header files are so objects can be linked together at compile time and/or referenced in others applications (in this case, so DSD+ can call the third party libraries).
