Hi!

I'm a brand new DSD+ FL user and I just got the email with the download link,
but I'm having issues getting TCP linking to work, I'm getting this error "TCP Protocol Error / Incompatible DSD+/FMPx versions".

Any solutions to this?

I read in another thread It might happen when you skip a version, but since I'm a brand new user shouldn't I have gotten the latest version?
I'm a bit confused.

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you

- Had you tried the free version on the computer you are using? (any old files on it)
- Have you tried the Update option on the Misc tab AND if it downloaded something, did you unzip it and place the contents in the DSDPlus folder?
- Have you tried the Download Newest Base Files option including unzipping and placing in the DSDPlus folder as needed?

No, this is the first time installing DSD+. Clicking update just tells me "You are running the most recent copy", and yes, I have tried Download Newest Base Files. It's really strange, I've looked around but haven't really found a solution that has worked.

yes, I have tried Download Newest Base Files.

And? What happened with that? It downloaded a zip file. Did you unzip the file and follow the ReadMe.txt?

Of course! I extracted the files but It didn't work.
I sent an email asking for help, and was told "FMP and DSD+ FL are not compatible. You must use FMP24 with RTL dongles."
I'm using an HackRF with SDR++ to send audio over TCP, maybe I've gotten something wrong and It doesn't work that way. I'm not sure.

Well there's your problem. I did not see it mentioned you were using a Hackrf

FMP24.exe RTL SDR tuner/demodulator
FMPA.exe Airspy tuner/demodulator
FMPP.exe SDRPlay tuner/demodulator

I only tried sdr++ one time so hopefully some of the sdr++ folks might know a way of having the program output tcp?

I think if DSD+ is saying "TCP Protocol Error" that should be the clue that whatever form of TCP audio sdr++ uses is not compatible and not a tested configuration. You need to use one of the three tuners and SDR types that Dave has listed above. Or use a virtual sound card to pipe standard audio out of sdr++ and into DSD+. The best experience is using a compatible SDR tuner and the matching FMP provided with DSD+.

Its says your new to DSDPlus but does not say what your trying to do. DSDPlus has a few uses.

Are you looking to set up a trunked system and listen to voice, set up a trunked system to log control channel data or set up to listen to convention digital freqs?

I'm just looking to listen and decode digital freqs. I solved It by simply using VAC, a bit annoying but hey, It works!

I appreciate the help!

What kind of digital freqs? conventional or trunked? For conventional the virtual audio cable route should work but I did not see in SDR++ where the option to not filter audio was. I do decode conventional freqs using vac out from SDR#1742 into DSDPlus and it works fine. It will only work if Filter Audio is unchecked.
