Wondering if anyone in durham could tell me where i could pick up a cheap external speaker. Havent really been able to find anywhere in Ajax, and i would prefer not to have to drive out to Durham Radio to see what they have....not looking for anything special, just a cheap external speaker since the output on the 250D is quite crappy

How much of a difference do you expect with a 'cheap' external speaker? For the most part, you're gonna get what you pay for.

If there's a local two way shop, see if you can pick up a Motorola amplified speaker. (For this I assume you're going to be mobile.) They're *reasonably* cheap (I got mine for $25) and the fidelity is far superior to anything you'll pick up at Radioshack or a dollar store.

I believe there are unamplified models, as well.

I have a 250d. and what I did is put a Speaker jack on the Left side of it inside. and tied into the speaker. I use a Ext. speaker. The sound quality is VERY GOOD. better then the little speaker on the scanner.

Hey metal....RS on Brock rd. in Pickering has CB speakers for 20 bucks if thats all your after.

Thanks, checked it out but ended up going to BestBuy and picking up a FM transmitter for the car, its actually perfect for the car since my Grand Prix has an accesory outlet inside the centre console....the FM transmitor is strong enough to work through the console, so everything goes inside the console, except for the 250D which i neatly hide in the rearseat cupholders behind the console on the floor....u basically cant see any of the stuff at all and the 16inch Super-Gainer antenna i bought from Durham Radio works perfectly as it basically comes up to about the top of the seat....since i am never out of the GTA i ahve yet to have any reception issues...
