Not directly related but here goes.

I am getting back into Listening (Mostly HF but some on my SDS200) and noticed there seems to be a lot less EAM traffic on HF (HFGCS) than there was even a year or 2 ago.

Has anyone else noticed that - or am I just listening at the wrong times? (Off and on thru EDT Evenings and all day weekends)

With HF propagation not so good these days; here in Reading, PA 4724 comes in best most of the time with some exceptions on 8992/11175. I've been listening for over 30yrs and I think the EAM's are just as busy as before.

Hum OK well must be the times I happen to listen to (I have been shortwave monitoring since i was 10 . . . I am 67 now
And was WUN then UDXF Moderator for a long time . so I am fairly used to the traffic and still seems way down to me

And Yes, I sure wish that old Sol would get on with the cycle!

No they been very active on a daily basis because we ( USA) and the British have been flying over Russia and over China in the past few days with their Intelligence Planes, More and More E-6 and E-8 been popping up on the radar

The EAM traffic has been very busy since the US and British have been flying over China and Russia with their Intelligence Planes gathering stuff at both locations, now since this is happening more and more E-6 and E-8 been flying over the USA airspace just the other day 3 E-6’s was near the East coast and Pacific coast patrolling

Some of the folks don’t remember listening to the Lincolnshire Poacher and Russian Woodpecker days on the shortwave, I remember it well on my shortwave base stations and the slinky dink long wire

The Subject/Topic is EAM traffic (that are on HF - & also higher frequencies (never have been clear where VHF & UHF meet was thinking UHF is usually called above 300 Mhz)
