MI Earthquake 2010. Day 1 of the aftermath
I was out & about taking my mother to a medical office on Dequindre north of 11 Mile, to pick up her repaired hearing aid. I stayed in the car too listen to the scanner. While sitting there, I noticed that the car was gently rocking back & forth. So I look around thinking someone is shaking my car and nobody is there. After about 15 or 20 seconds it stopped. Now I'm wondering if that was an earthquake? I've never felt one before. On the way home we made a few stops to get some things. Then about a half a mile away from home, the freq 130.600 pops up. This pilot was talking to another pilot about being in Oshawa at the FBO using the computer, and his chair starts shaking, & mentions the earthquake. I looked at my mother and said, we had an earthquake. I finally felt an earthquake. I was probably one of the very few that was happy to find out we had an earthquake. It was pretty cool.
I remember the small quake we had back in the 80's in Detroit, but I didn't feel anything that day. I only remember the windows rattling at the store I was working at.
