Well, this is a first in a long, long, long time. I was just at a local Fire hall doing some minor fixes and the in station, the Weather Alert monitor went off. The alert was for possible severe storms in the area. This is not unusual, what was unusual is the warning was issued at 1900 by Environment Canada and the alert went out at 1905. That is just a 5 min turn around. Fantastic. That is what the alert system should be doing. Usually the alerts are issued 1 to 2 hours after Environment Canada issues the warning making the alert useless.
I hope this is a new trend in issuing warnings.
