What are you finding so difficult? I'm using it on and off on a basic old laptop and works just fine - it's my phone line quality that sucks. Be more specific....73s Mike

Obviously not reading here - what problem are you having? Be more specific.

I had some issues with sending the tones properly to connect - I solved them somewhat by adjusting my deviation which was too high, which caused the tones to be lost (on a VX5 Handheld, which had some issues with deviation being too high...)

Ok. I have a yeasu 7800r, and I was reading the manual and it read the directions on how to do it, but the biggest problem I am having is on the node numbers do I access the repeaters node then the node I am trying to contact, or just enter the node I am trying to contact???

The nodes that I used usually had me sign on with a specific key combination, wait for the Echolink welcome message, then dial up the node I wanted to use. When done, another key was used to sign off the system. That may vary, I would imagine, from node to node. You should contact the owner of the node to see what their procedures are (and if you use their system, consider joining the club or at least send a subscription fee, depending on what the site requires. This isn't all cheap...)
