EDACS Question

Hi all,

I am wondering if the following is correct when programming edacs into a PRO-95 scanner.

Bank 8-0 ON
ID No. 00
ED: 0810

Then I have on bank 8 the following

800...........+FM
0.00000
Bank 8 Ch 00

At 801 Ch 01 I input the first frequency starting in lcn order up to 805 Ch 05. All channels are set to +ED.

I also was wondering if it is possible to put edacs into 2 differnt banks if they are two different agencies. For instance I have Alabama state in bank 8 and airport authority in bank 9. I hear no traffic except when I scan them manually. I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

"Then i have on bank 8"......800........+FM, that should say - 800.......+ED, looks like the BANK is not set to "ED". You were correct to start with CH1 in the bank. And yes, you can put the same system in another bank......

Which AL state site do you have programmed? And do you hear a Control noise on one of the freqs?

make sure there is a PLUS + symbol for the banks you have programmed in the EDACS information, like bank 8 should have a + not an -

By having the - means you have the bank CLOSED and only programmed "talkgroup id's" will come up. Leaving it with + will keep the bank open and it will be in ID SEARCH mode, where ANY talkgroup id that comes up will be heard. Eventually you'll save which talkgroups you want to hear, then close the bank so that all of the rest won't be heard.

This sounds like what's happening to you.
