I have been siting on the EL Mirage TG 4330 and 4331 for the last couple of days and have not heard anything? I know one of them are encrypted but not hearing any chirping there either on my Pro106.

I have also been siting on Border Patrol 168.975 and 163.7750 and a few others not hearing anything either?

Are these guys using cell phones, Nextel or Mdc? Because I sure am not getting any traffic from any of them.

Now if El Mirage is using other means for their traffic then tax payers sure as heck should not be footing the bill for encryption if they are not using it? Just my two cent.

I'm not sure about CBP, but El Mirage will only come off of Simulcast G. So if you're not monitoring simulcast G you won't hear anything on those talkgroups.

Yes El Mirage is on 4330 and most of the time only heard on System G. i just heard them a few ago. The only time you will hear them on White Tanks or another RWC site is if one of there units is out and about.

Can anyone verify that the Border Patrol frequencies are still good and active or know what type of Communications they are using because the repeaters seem very quiet anymore. I used to get them all the time on 168.975 and 163.775 among others but anymore nothing heard. Yes I know they are digital I am using the Pro-106 and the BCD396T.

I realize they use encryption and you would thank that with the Pro-106 that I would hear something on encryption noise. I have been running it for days and no hits I get a Ice hit once in a while or some type of Surveillance very little concerning Border Patrol, I wonder if they went to Nextel or MDT for traffic use? I will keep searching and see what I find. You don't suppose they could have went to UHF 400-420 do you?

most of the time i hear them active on I-8 and casa grande area

and another you might listen to is 171.1875 not sure how active it is down there but it is up north

both are ENC at times but i get enough info to know what goes on in the area

I would like to thank everyone for their input I have entered 166.8500 and seem to pick it up just fine using the Pro-106 and the stock antenna will see what happens with the 171.1875.

Chris I have entered the frequencies that I did not have from your MT files and will let you know what I pick up. So does anyone know if the 168.975 is an outdated or unused repeater now?
