Well it appears that El Paso Public Safety will not use the EDACS ESK Provoice system as of the news on 11/19/07 from the El Paso Trunked information on this board. It states that the Public Safety will not be switching over due to unforseen coverage problems. I wonder if this is really true or it's a money issue. Anyway it states that the SUN METRO and FIRE will be on that system. WoW EDACS w/ESK and Provoice for the Sun Metro Bus System. Really important that thos bus communications be protected. Who cares about that.... I'm so happy the Police will still be able to be heard here in the great SUN CITY. I guess then Corpus Christie and San Antonio will be the only ones so far using the EDACS /ESK Provoice systems. Except for Canada which is using them in some parts. HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY !!!!!!!! :)

I know..... I guess we will just have to wait and see. At least I'll still be able to pickup DPS on APCO25 and HAM and AIR Craft.

At least I moved out of San Antonio, TX to here. SAPD had gone to Provoice already. I was working for Johnson Controls and working a contract at the San Antonio Public Library and had a Jaguar Radio with the city's programming on it including POLICE however I had to turn it in when I left the library to come here to El Paso. Oh well....

Pro-Voice

Don't forget the DFW International Airport. Huge loss when they went ProVoice!!!

At least if the pooh hits the air conditioning we will hear them call for help on the Grapevine mutual aid TG...

No one in El Paso city government will be going to ProVoice in any shape, fit, or form. EPFD just upgraded all their portables and mobiles with Motorola equipment. EPPD is doing the same. What they will be going to is digital in the near future with additional repeaters for coverage. RR needs to pull off the thing about Provoice from the El Paso database. HTH.
