On February 27, 2008 at approximately 1:15 PM, a downed skier was reported to the Eldora Ski Patrol. The skier, a 46 year old male, was found unresponsive near the bottom of the junction of the Westridge and Cascade runs. Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Pridemark Ambulance paramedics, personnel from Nederland Fire Department and a Flight For Life helicopter all responded to Eldora. They were unable to resuscitate the victim and investigators from the Boulder County Coroner’s Office and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to Eldora to investigate the death. The victim was apparently alone and foul play is not suspected.
