Cell Phone. No hospital on Monmouth County answers the HEAR system (155.340). UHF Med channels are for ALS.
Same deal for the majority of Morris County EMS squads. Hospitals don't even respond on those channels anymore.

My apologizes. I didn't realize a specific location was given. My earlier comment was for EMS in general, nationwide.

(Edit: I think an admin/moderator added the location, and moved this thread to the NJ forum. I think originally this thread was in the wrong forum, which is where I saw it and commented.)

Which squad & which hospital?
Irrelevant but Chilton, Morristown, at St. Joes all do (and maybe Valley?). Living within relative close proximity to Chilton, I hear rigs call in PCR's all the time.

Which squad & which hospital?
Freehold to all area hospitals. Im not well versed but I know enough to be dangerous, lol. What I'm debating is wether or not to buy the G5 Unication. I have the TRX-1 now that has difficulty broadcasting simulcast. So I need help with either, settings on my TRX-1 to perform better OR spend the dough on the G5. Not sure which G5 to purchase also, different types (VHF, UHF, 100-800 banding etc...). I understand that the G5 is not a typical scanner and both have its advantages and disadvantages. And also those EMS Squad-Hospital I'm monitoring Hack-Barnabas and RWJ but I don't seem to hear "the action", the squad responding to hospitals.

It was moved, but the thread was not changed.

Interesting because I am on a squad & we started using cell due to hospitals informing us that they don't use the radio.

Technically the JEMS 2 channel is for this purpose. Practically in monmouth county this occurs via cellphone if ALS or via relay through their dispatchers if BLS for critical patients. BLS only calls do not routinely get a EMS-to-hospital notification
