Encryption of ENC & LNK?

I put in all the federal government frequencies in my 996XT for the Phx area. I have noticed that the encryption jumps form P25 which is decoded by the scanner and ENC & LNK which the scanner does not decode. Is the scanner set up wrong or are they way ahead of us with the encryption?

Your scanner is working properly.

• P25 is digital voice and unencrypted audio will be heard
• ENC is P25 that is encrypted and the Uniden scanner automatically mutes that ENC audio
• LNK is data (not voice) and is also muted.
