Entergy P25 LA/AR/MS/TX needs further mapping

It's just as strong as the CC. No change with the pressing D. It's like a third CC, meaning a third type. Prime CC being 1st, Alternate CC being 2nd, etc. I've picked up the same thing right next to the tower While the actual CC does it's proper thing if I tune to it.

Only on "bigger sites" though. 2.52, 2.53 but never on 2.36 for example. Beats me. Just throws me off thinking its a new pickup, and it ends up being a site on a system I already know.

I should make note of which sites I find this on.

Not sure what to make of it. Odd. I seriously doubt it's any sort of legit data. I'm going to lean towards DSDPlus having issues copying the stream on the frequency you are on (a freq that isn't the CC but is on the system and may be some sort of image showing up in the SDR dongle). so it may be strong but have decoding errors. And decoding errors can cause things to pop up like that, fudging up the true system id, etc..

@slayer816: Looks like a normal CC capture, except it's a little weird that 50 seconds go by between the "Found control channel" message and the first neighbor message decode. Are you not tuned to 860.2875? What does the "Channel Activity" window show? The cool thing about P25 is that you know if you are listening to an image or spur if the Channel Activity window shows a different CC frequency than you are actually tuned to.

Or did you change frequencies during that 50-second gap, and maybe you're referring to seeing the neighbor and site info on a non-CC channel? I've seen a number of systems here that send neighbor info on non-CC channels. It might even be the majority in SoCal. You know it's not a CC because there won't be a CC in the Channel Activity window (I think it just shows group and ID if there is one being decoded, like any other voice channel).

That's why it's so odd. It IS. The neighbors match here and always are correct with 2.46 / 2.52 when this sort of thing happens.

I've seen a number of systems here that send neighbor info on non-CC channels.

That helps. I've personally only seen it with this system. Add that to my lack of long term experience with DSD and hence confusion. And no I was not tuned to 860.2875. That gives me a typical CC response that everyone knows and loves. This was 856.3625 which is on the license but is not a CC. Actually, looking at my logs on both DSD and Unitrunker this frequency has only sent data in the past. This is a TDMA voice system with sometimes 100 frequencies on a license; so this doesn't help much.

Yeah – I see that in the RRDB as a non-CC (voice/data) channel for that site. Sometimes, I've even seen them run continuously, spewing neighbor lists and nothing else (at least not that DSD+ decodes). The Channel Activity window is the key – if no freq+"CC" shown there, it's not a CC.

I picked up these today. 2.55 is for sure Lucky as I was beside the tower. All data above is new. I won't be confident Ringgold is correct until I drive by it. I couldn't get 2.56 enough for another control channel. I only received partial signal on it in two places (marked with a red circle below). 2.44 was picked up marked with yellow circle below.

I have not submitted anything yet. Figured we could brainstorm first. My route started south in Monroe and ended in Arcadia (marked in gray). Oddly enough I wasn't able to pick up 2.41 at any point, I tried.

2.72 is not Swiftown. In the DB it's a confirmed site with freqs 855.5125 and 856.9125. Those are not on the Swiftown license but on the Lexington license. Imagine freqs and site # in DB are right, but name/location in DB needs changed.

2.71 is likely Swiftown (859.9125)

Reconfirmed 2.44 and 2.55. 2.56 has to be somewhere near Goldonna. I picked up the signal from Ringgold to Jonesboro through Castor and Lucky on LA-4 if you look at the Entergy map. Neighbors and signal strength/direction is coming from south-southeast ish. I think Montgomery 2.41 is correct but haven't been anywhere near it to re-confirm. The following data is current.

These locations were most likely affected by Hurricane Ida and recovery wasn't justified over power and other systems recovery. Quite possibly why you see CCs listed w/o peers and no CC/no peers.

I am typically driving through Golden Meadow (city area North of the locks) and Raceland once every 2 weeks. Also note that Golden Meadow zip/city limits also extends all the way down to Port Fourchon, which is where I live for every other 2 weeks throughout the year. If I can help in any way from Fourchon let me know; however, do understand that it is pretty much total comms devastation from Golden Meadow South to Fourchon still. Raceland is recovering faster than further South towns due to its close proximity to highway 90 (and multiple agencies are working from HWY 90 Southbound to the water on recovery efforts still.) **Completely unrelated, but to show repairs for infrastructure** I have a remote company office in Galliano (just north of Golden Meadow) that still doesn't have cable/internet services since Ida hit and it is on the main 4 lane highway.
