ERT or TRU

Have heard the OPP reference Emergency Response Team and Tactics and Rescue Unit, are they the same thing or different? Thanks .

TRU are a specialized squad who's members are dedicated to the TRU team only.

ERT are regular officers who have additional training. They can perform scene containment before TRU arrives, K9 escort, search and rescue etc.
