I just got back into town the other day and I'm no longer hearing anything on the SO frequency. I still pickup Attalla, Glenco and Southside. Does anyone know if they switched over to the new trunk system?

I have noticed the same thing also. Monitored for an hour and a half one day while my wife was sick and did not hear a peep from them.

I noticed the Etowah County page had been updated last week. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I had a sherriff deputy come to my house tonight and while he was talking to my brother I looked down at his radio and noticed he had the same radio as the Gadsden Police officers had. So they are on the new system

Etowah VFD Narrowband

I was talking at work with one of the volunteer firefighters (790) that I work with now and he advised me that they are going live with narrow band this March but he does not know the freq yet.

Etowah County Volunteer Fire - 453.850 UHF: Update

As of March 15, 2011 all Etowah County volunteer fire department repeaters on
UHF 453.850 have changed to DCS PL of 023 on the repeater output.
I assume the input PL has also changed as well but I will have to verify that info.
The PL info should be updated on R/R database.
According to what I heard on the radio from E-911 dispatch announced that all repeaters had been rebanded.
But no info has been found as to that statement, only the PL tone has changed.
They are still using the same frequency as far as I can tell.
I looked on the FCC database and the frequency is still licensed as 453.850 on 25 KHz.
The FCC database does not show any new or updated frequencies yet.
