Can someone give me some tips on hooking up mutiple speakers (for better sound) to my 996 ? I hooked a single to dual jack from the back of the 996 and plugged in two speakers, however, only one speaker is putting out sound. 2nd question is: Is it possible (and how do you do this) to run a cable from the back of the scanner (ext speaker on scanner) to the sound card (or something similar to achieve the same results)(creative Labs audigy) on the back of my pc and have the sounds directed from the sound card to the speakers.....maybe someone has a diagram ? Has anyone done this ?

I run my 996 through the computer just like you said, I connect the ext speaker out to the Line in on my comp, and listen through my comp speakers. Works great.

It sounds like what you did is you used a stereo plug to two-mono jack splitter. The scanner is only putting out one channel of audio, which is why you're only getting audio to one of the jacks. Instead what you need is a mono plug to two mono jack splitter.
