External speaker output on BCD996T - Mono or Stereo ?

Title says it all

Might be a stupid question but is the external speaker output on the back of the BCD996T is mono or stereo ?

Couldn't find the info in user guide or elsewhere ...

The audio out is mono. But it is a stereo jack wired with audio to both the tip and ring, so that if you plug a stereo plug into it ( such as headphones ) it will send the audio to both left and right. So the answer is you can use a mono or stereo plug.

Northzone is right but I would suggest only using a stereo plug. The size of the sleeve is slightly longer in a mono plug and sometimes shorts out the ring connection in the jack to ground. Depending on the internal circuitry of the 996T, that might short out the audio.
