EZ Scan version question

I have 5 radios that are programmable with EZ Scan software - TRX-2, WS1098, WS1088 and 2 Upgraded PSR-800's.

Can I use the same EZ Scan for all of these radios or is there specific versions of EZ Scan for each type? The reason I ask is I just downloaded the latest and the TRZ-2 is a different version of the software.

The TRX-2 is version 3.40 the other is version 2.50

There are small differences in each version, based on the capabilities of handheld vs desktop vs model. You can probably use one version for the WS1088 and the 2 modified PSR800's, but as I learned, if you have NXDN on the TRX-2 it may mess up programming being used on the WS1098 as it will also have different firmware. That said, if all scanners have the same programming (minus NXDN) you can do all the programming on one version of EZ Scan and save it to ARCHIVE then RESTORE FROM ARCHIVE in the other version. There will still be some settings that need to be corrected. But, when writing to the SD cards, yes you must use the proper version.

You also can download database updates once and copy/paste from one folder to the other EZ Scan version folders.

The 2 upgraded PSR-800's and the WS1088 use the WS1080/WS1088 software. The WS1098 uses the WS1095/WS1098 software. The TRX-2 uses the TRX-2 software. You must use the software to match the scanner.

What member tvengr said. If you use the wrong program for the wrong radio it might screw something up.
