"External" shows up occasionally instead of a radio ID in the Channel Activity window while monitoring a P25 site. What does this mean?

When I've seen it, it's because that talk group is patched to a conventional analog repeater, and the unit keying up is on the analog repeater, not the P25 system.

External will also display when a patch is coming in from a system that's ISSI linked to the system your monitoring.

Would these typically be assigned very high TG values? I've seen them in the 30000 - 50000 range (TXWARN).

From the ones I have seen, usually they are up there. Mine show up in the 65xxx range
