Hey all,

I know FDNY operates the duplex system with the dispatch and mobile channels for borough dispatch, and that the only way you can pick up transmissions from mobiles unless the mixer is on is if you're close to the scene that it's being transmitted from. Say I leave my radio on the Manhattan Mobile channel, will I be able to pick up transmissions from FDNY Dispatch regardless of where I am in the city? Or does dispatch only transmit using their dispatch channel, the mobiles freq only being used as the TX freq to reach dispatch?

Any help is appreciated.

The Mobile channel is mobile to dispatcher only so you will only hear nearby mobiles.
