Topic: Brett (bneilson) will present on ICS (Incident Command System), We also will Welcome any new members PLEASE come join us. Jerry (W7SAR has offered to bring PIzza.

Jerry (W7SAR) gave contact information in this post. Before scheduling a meeting I would suggest you get hold of him and clear the use of the building first. Remember, Gary ended up with a bunch of cold pizza from the last meeting so you certainly cannot blame him for being cautious.

Saturday the 16th at noon is OK for me. If someone would touch base with me on Friday to ensure I've looked at my calendar, that may help!!! I will provide pizza and we can stay until 3:30 latest so I can go to work.

I am going to try and make it, but can't say with 100% certainty that I will. Depends on how the studying comes along this week.

Well, if you are looking for encouragement, let me encourage you to attend. I don't have any idea what kind of studying you are doing, but you can't beat meeting new folks in a new place (for you) that enjoy the same things...chasing magic, invisible signals in the wind. Besides, Jerry has a terrific HAM setup there too! ...and the pizza is free! (bring your own drink). You will be among friends.

Can you navigate our "stupid address system?" I have had so many "out-of-towners" tell me how stupid our address system is, yet it is the easiest thing to learn. Using the address in Viper's post above (post #1), you can do an Expedia, MapQuest, or Google Map search for directions. From the address you gave us of your motel, you are most of the way here anyway.

I guess I never said why I was out here. I'm in ground training right now with Skywest Airlines. I was flying with Comair, but had wanted to fly with Skywest originally. We've got a big aircraft systems final the following Monday. I can gladly help with any general aircraft radio questions, but I haven't really gotten familiar with the local operations yet. I would say that more than likely I will be there since I am feeling pretty solid on the systems knowledge.
And yes, at first the road set up is a little strange and it's confusing the first few times you hear 400 West 800 South, but overall, it's really really intuitive.

We had a good discussion on several topics.

I did a small presentation on the Incident Command system and have posted my files HERE for people to download and look at. We Jerry's suggestion, that directory is now browsable. The two files from today start with ICS.

We also talked about Google launching Street View and how neat that will be when we are tracing an incident...

Any other comments for the others that attended?

In all seriousness we had a good discussion on ICS. Not just the what it is and how it works but how we hear ICS in action locally. We then had some fun getting a lok at "Street View" on Google Maps. We think it will give us even more perspective on incidents as we listen.

I really enjoy these get togethers and hope that more will come join us in the coming months.
