Hello, All--

I'm a database admin and a little out of place on the Broadcastify side of things.
I need to contact a feed provider about a change to the Okahoma OKWIN talkgroups.
I need to change a talkgroup from one county to another, because it is mislabeled. But I assume if I just move it, it will blow up the feed.
Does anyone have tips on how to contact a feed provider before making database changes?

The feed in question is:

I don't think it will impact the feed; the feed will simply show incorrect info. However, I suspect other database admins, like @GTR8000 could advise better.

Calls pulls the talkgroup info from the RRDB, so whatever changes you make to the RRDB will be reflected in real time on Calls.

So, to be clear, if I migrate the talkgroup to a different county, the Broadcastify link just follows the talkgroup without incident?

That's good to know, but also makes me wonder why I am pulling all these aliases into SDRtrunk, when I could simply specify all talkgroups to stream.

The link is based on the TGID, regardless of which talkgroup category it's in or which county that talkgroup category is assigned to. Any changes you make to a talkgroup's alpha tag, description, or service tag will be automatically reflected on Calls within a few seconds of the servers syncing with each other. The Calls node provider doesn't need to do anything on their end.

Calls doesn't care what labels/aliases you have in the software hosting the node. It simply receives the audio for each TGID, and once that hits the BCFY servers, it pulls the corresponding info from the RRDB and displays that. This way if a node provider never bothers to keep their aliases updates, it really doesn't matter, it would only affect them if they're using Trunking Recorder locally with SDRTrunk, for example.
