Greeting all,
Does anyone know in the Salt lake, Davis counties areas
what is mint when the computized (broadcast) dispatches a engine company
to a location and says "On Deck" 04,
Are they saying to go to a simplex freq as a fireground channel?

Not sure about Davis County but in Salt lake County most everything other than SLC is dispatched by VECC (Valley Emergency Communications Center) What you are hearing is got to "VECC 4" not deck. These are geographic-based response channels. On a side note, VECC 5 is for working incidents such as a fire. VECC 6 means we are having a bad day.

So what you are saying is that my Radio Shack 2096 is just not of high enough quality
to decode what the computer dispatch is saying...That's understandable
Am i correct here? By chance, do you know what there total Vecc channel plan (With tones) are?

The computer can at times have a strange 'accent' here are the VECC fire channels:

As to the geography, it's not an s[specific standard but VECC 2 tends to be east side, and VECC 3 is on the west side. VECC 4 being south. This is not set n stone though and calls are assigned as needed and TGs are available.

Your radio is good enough quality. It is your ears that needs adjusting. :D
Mine are the same way. I need to hear something several times, to catch it correctly.

Just FYI, after the 2020 Earthquake, I heard an unknown City (I didn't catch who it was), using TG 21152 for EOC comms.

Shouldn't UFA Tac 7 be 21376?
