Fire Department merges in Indianapolis

1 January 2011, Lawrence Twp. Fire Department officially merged with the Indianapolis Fire Department The Castleton Vol. Fire Department ceased operation. All of the townships in Marion County except of Pike, Wayne and Decatur have merged with Indianapolis. The cities of Lawrence and Speedway still have their own departments.

Actually Castleton VFD merged with Buck Creek in Hancock Co. This merger began a couple months back when one of the CVFD engines was tuned over to Buck Creek.
