Hi,

I hear a Station 52 dispatched on Denver Fire dispatch. Anybody know who's station this is and where it's located? Sounds like it's in the southwest part of town.

Is 52 an alias for another jurisdiction's station designation?

Thanks

Correct Charles that's Sheridan FD, also Medic-52 is the only ambulance you will ever hear on DFD giving mileage when they are transporting.

Got it, thanks.

Are they dispatched by Denver exclusively now? I see a Sheridan talk group in the database...
Do they cover any Denver geography?

Yes they are dispatched by DFD on EDACS.

No there response area is Sheridan with auto-aid into Littleton, Denver and Englewood.

The most recent word is that Sheridan 52 will be disbanded in September and become Denver Fire Station 36. Initially Engine 28 will move in for about 6 weeks, then Engine 36 will go in service there. With the addition of a new DFD Company, there's discussion about a district realignment. 36 will be in District 7 and Station 20 may end up becoming District 6.

For apparatus, the medic units will likely be sold. Quint 52 is already out of service and likely going back to the factory. Engine 52 will probably become a training or reserve engine for the DFD.

Thanks for all the great info gents. From the pictures, that Quint was a nice looking rig.

On the topic of new Denver stations, anything recent on that proposed station addition on East Alameda?

It is stalled because the neighbors do not want it in their backyard.

Which station addition? On 19's or a new one?

Also, another poster talked about how the budget situation is going to cause Denver to close stations next year. How will this play into it?

The Lowry Station will be a new company "Engine 18"

I'm not sure how the budget is playing into it although I think the closures are only based on the passing of 60, 61 & 101. An additional DIA "Engine 35" is also planned to go in service this year too.

That makes sense - What is the proposed location of Engine 18?

Will Enginer 35 be at a new 5th station at DIA?

Honestly I've only heard that it'll be a Lowry Station to help bridge the gap between 19's & 14's... not sure on the exact location.

I haven't heard any specific info about the location of E35, people have guessed 31's at least for a while.

RE Denver station 35

There is a new DFD station near DIA just off 75th ave & Jackson Gap not yet open, I recall seeing 35 on the outside, I drive by there almost every day. Look like it has 3 bays for vehicles. Perhaps they will cover calls on Pena if station #2 is not close.

It is station 35 and it is in service. It is part of the Airport division and will only respond to calls at DIA and on Pena Boulevard out to Tower Road. It houses Engine 35 which was running out of 31s, a new mini pumper 35, and offices Airport Division Chief and fire prevention airport group.
Stations 39 and 40 are the drawing boards now. They will be city side stations in Gateway and Stapleton north.

Pretty cool to see 35's going out on a run at 2am from the new house while I drove home Thursday morning and Truck 2 headed towards the airport on Pena... Not sure what was up but neat to see the new house open...
