Hi folks, Is there a way to check the DSP and CPU firmware by the TRX-2's front panel? Any keybord or power up shortcuts that will give them to you? I'm having trouble getting reliable reads with the cable and the software for this though I am able to program. From the fields I'm seeing I think I'm all upgraded but I was wondering if there was another way to check?
Thanks, John

Try holding the Power Button and Menu Button in on power-up until the Versions show up on the LCD. Then let buttons go.

When I do that it comes up with: MAIN Appl code update mode. Waiting for USB but never shows anything else?

The easiest way to check is push the power button until scanner starts loading then after it verifies files on the sd card the welcome screen comes up and while this is showing push the menu button to see information on DSP and CPU versions installed.

I am trying to figure out the correct procedure to update firmware on TRX-2. Do I power OFF the TRX2, next plug USB and TRX2 to PC, next bring up EZ on PC, down load firmware to TRX2, next unplug USB and TRX2 from PC, finally power UP the TRX-2. In other words the TRX-2 should be powered OFF downloading firmware update. Am I missing a step? Thanks

That should be it except that you might want to use safe eject, or whatever it's called, before disconnecting the USB, though I believe it isn't normally necessary unless you have changed the default Windows settings and/or disconnect before all data transfer has been completed for a second or two.

You should update the CPU firmware first then the DSP firmware.

Thanks, yes I am aware of the safe eject.
Quick question, is there a drop down in EZ scan to select CPU firmware first?

Yes. From the Updates menu, you can select each individual updates, or check for all updates. Here is what it looks like on my TRX-1:
