I just started today to try this "Analyze" on SDS200 menu. I understand how to use it but what do I do if it found 3/3 of the LCN? I did what it ask me to do as I did save it with "Y" key. My question is where is this saved info? I did Analyze LCN the Industrial DMR and I had 2 strong signals. One of them is in Foster RI 8/8 and Webster Mass 3/3.

Thank you,

Thank you,
Those are saved in the system's details on the scanner.

The easiest thing would be to 'read' the scanner back into Sentinel, which will populate the LCN values into the file on your Favorites list. You could also use the scanner's menu to 'edit' the Favorites list that includes that system. Then, select edit the system, then at the next menu, then 'edit site' (and choose the site if there is more than one). Then at the Site edit menu, choose Edit Frequency. Select the frequency, then press Enter (you're not really changing it, but this is the only way to get there). After you 'enter' the unchanged frequency, you'll finally see the screen for the LCN, so that you could then edit your Favorites list in Sentinel. But then, you need to 'edit' the second (and third) frequency, step by step, to find out what LCN was found.

As you can see, it's much easier to read the scanner back into Sentinel. When you get the prompt that the list, in Sentinel, is different than what you are uploading, you do want to replace the list in Sentinel, so that it will also have the newly found LCNs.

A side note:
If you have a system with, let's say 5 frequencies, you might run Analyze & it finds 3 of the LCNs, but not all five. That could be the case if there is not much activity going on. Upload & save that. But just remember that if you decide to run Analyze again, hoping that the system is busy enough that now the other two LCNs will be found, when you choose the Analyze mode for LCNs, it will reset all of them back to 0 (unknown), even the ones you have already found.

It looks easy for you but not for me. I did a full read from SDS200 to the Sentinel and the favorite is called "Mass DMR". I did open edit favorite and I did pick that Mass DMR. That is as far as I can get.

That Favorites list is the one that has the system that you did the Analyze?

Choose Edit for the Favorites list.
In the list of systems, choose the one we're discussing.

In one of my lists, there is a large local DMR trunked system, used by a couple of hospitals, a regional Medevac organization, and a number of others.
Here, I have selected that system in the Favorites Editor.

Here, I've selected the system, Megahertz.

In the right side menu, you see the Departments programmed on that system, which is the first thing you see, Now, click on the tab labeled Sites,
That gives you a list of the sites programmed in that Favorites list.

The site you programmed is one of those sites (if you selected the correct list to edit). Those same sites will also appear in the left pane.

If you click on the name of the site in question, on the left side, in the right hand window, you'll see the frequencies, color codes, and LCNs for that specific site. In this example, I chose the site Allen/McKinney.

You don't need to add them again, as long as when you uploaded from the scanner, you let it replace the site in Sentinel. Save any changes you might make, on this or other systems in the list, before exiting the Favorites List Editor.

Just to add to this, you might only find 3 of 5 if not all are in use and are reserved for future expansion if needed.

Right. I see quite a few sites like that on the system I used in my example, Megahertz. Their downtown Dallas site has ten frequencies, all in use. But their Cedar Hill site has 12 frequencies licensed for that location, but only five are in use at this time. The LCNs, for Cedar Hill, are 1,2,4,5, & 8, which leads you to believe that there may be more, but the only ones that come up if I rerun the LCN finder on that site, using all the licensed frequencies, are the five in the database at this time.

For the sites, on systems I monitor, where it appears that not all licensed frequencies are listed, every 3-4 months, sometimes more, I try the LCN analyzer again to see if any of the strays have joined the herd & acquired an LCN. Most of the time, I don't get anything new, but occasionally, I do.

Very good and on that Foster RI DMR I have 38 unidentified TGID's . A good part of them sound like transportation and land work. It is a great Trunk system to listen to. I am now retired and now I have time to explore my scanners for new ones.

Take care
