I have changed my USDS100 to FM instead of NFM.
Made a big difference to the audio quality.
Not quite as scratchy now.

Was wondering about my UBCD3600XLT.
It's currently on NFM but still sounds better than the USDS100.
Would it be better or worse on FM. Or just set it to auto and let it decide.

It's the SDS scanners that have issues and would benefit the most from a wider bandwidth setting, as well as using different filter and IFX settings to try and improve it's receiver performance. Not so much in other "normal" scanners, that could actually perform better going from FM to NFM. Auto are not actually that, a better word would be "default" as it is using the default value from its bandplan setting.

You can ask other people in your area or ask on the RR forums.

Does NZ public safety and (equivalent of) land-mobile use FM or NFM in general?

still in use are, 75.xxx > FM linked with Fire and 485.xxx > NFM
Ambulance 141.xxx > FM
