I have an annoying issue where my FMP24 is frozen after my windows 11 desktop resumes from sleep.
To get everything working again I have to restart FMP and DSD. On Win10 I did not have that problem and all the instances of FMP24 resumed just fine after sleep.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Thanks!

Under power options>advanced settings I have "USB selective suspend setting" set to disabled
In addition to that I have unchecked the option to allow the computer to turn off USB devices in device manager.

But no luck

I don't allow my computer to sleep as it can lead to issues that you are experiencing. I do allow the display screen saver function to prevent burn-in. Can you post a screen shot showing the setting you mention above? You probably need to dig further in Device Manager and disable any power savings settings for the individual USB hubs.

I had the same problem with FMP (not FMP24) when I copied a working DSD+ installation from a Windows 10 PC to a new Windows 11 PC. My computer is set to never sleep on its own but I do put it to sleep at the end of the day. When I would wake it up in the morning, FMP would be locked up and require a restart. I disabled all the USB sleep-related options I could find, to no avail.

I looked at Event Logs and discovered that the computer was waking up in the middle of the night, presumably to do updates. DSD+ & FMP were operating correctly at that point. Four hours later, per the Event Log, the computer would sleep again due to inactivity. Further investigation revealed that this “sleep” was actually hibernation!

I went to the Advanced Options of my Power Plan and disabled hibernation. It’s been a few days now - the computer sleeps and wakes up when I want it to and FMP functions as it should. Strangely, disabling hibernation has stopped the middle-of-the-night wakeups and I’m fine with that.

Event Viewer is your friend. Note the time when DSD+ stops logging and search your System log for “Kernel-Power” events in that timeframe.
