FreeSCAN Error Opening a File

My brother sent me a .996 FreeSCAN file he used to program his 996XT. When I try to open it in FreeSCAN I get the following error:

Error 62 Serious error occurred while trying to load this file.

I am using version .9M. Not sure what version he used to create the file. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks.

Might want to zip the file first. If you send a .996 file over email, most email systems will change it and convert and it gets corrupt.
