FT8800, DR235 In a Chevy Lumina

Here are some pics of my current install in my 98 Lumina.

Two Radios
Alinco DR235T MkIII
Yeasu FT8800R

Antenna's
Hustler MX220 5/8
Dual Band 2m/70cm (not sure of the make)

Currently the 220 antenna is on a trunk lid mount, as soon as I find my hole saw its going on the roof.

The mount I believe is made by gamber I'm not too sure I bought it off another forum a while ago.

I'm always changing the radio configuration in my car though...this one might stay though.

you're welcome. it is hard to beat a permanently mounted antenna, I won't go back to removable mounts unless I'm looking at a larger antenna such as for mobile HF which I am considering for my next vehicle install project

I don't know what kid of Car you have. On my Step Father's Durango he had a KJ7U screw driver antenna and built up a bracket for that, that mounted to the tail hitch assembly and the antenna would sit on a aluminum stud which made it easy to take the antenna off if need be. With that antenna I wouldn't recommend driving around with out the whip, the whip takes most of the vibration, my step father took his whip off to go under a parking deck and forgot to put it back one before he got on the highway and the bolt that held the stud in broke.
