After my entire family moved from southeast Georgia to northwest Washington. My sister and her family moved to Gainesville . I am not sure if or when I'd ever be able to go down there for a visit? BUT I am looking for contacts in the area. If you'd be interested in connecting, please let me know. I have the following portable scanners.

GRE PSR 500
Radio shack Pro96
Radio shack Pro 164
Pro 2006 Pro 2052.

I know Florida isn't a very scanner friendly state. But any tips on monitoring in the area would be appreciated.

Hi Stavro,

Yes unfortunately FHP and the agencies that use SLERS aren't "scanner friendly" but the good news is that monitoring Alachua County and Gainesville isn't difficult at all. 99% of public safety is on their 800mzh TRS . (With some mutual aid stuff on conventional channels) If you ever find yourself down here for a visit I'd be happy to provide you with some guidance and a .p500 file for your PSR-500.
