Can someone tell me what I’m hearing on a dispatch channel…sounds like a busy tone on a phone..it comes on and goes off but nothing else

Are you using a TRX?

Guessing that’s the busy tone to indicate you are RX’ing an encrypted transmission.

You'll hear this on all talkgroups ID'ed in the RRDB as mode "DE" or "TE" (or sometimes "De" or "Te") = full or partial encryption, but only on Whistlers

That's how your scanner is indicating your monitoring an encrypted call. As has been posted above.. They went E over a year ago on the secure dispatch ch, they don't use the clear ch any more, unless by accident.

As was explained when you asked two years ago, PGC cut over to encrypted dispatch two and a half years ago.

Help with Pa game commision

Is the game commision encrypted or did I screw my scanner up…also any help to reprogram game commission for my area only….ne quardrant…please just answer without criticism..thanks Don
