I'm programming my BCD436HP with the Sentinal software and I there a lot of sites that I want to avoid scanning. The only way I know of doing this in Sentinal is change Avoid on each individual site. Is there any way of changing all of them globally so I can just un-avoid the few I want?

Are there any alternatives to Sentinal that I can be used to program the BCD436HP?

Thanks.

In Sentinel (and probably in ProScan, although I haven't tried) you can shift-select (hold shift button while pressing left mouse button) a range of sites and avoid all, or control-shift (hold control and left mouse button) and pick a bunch to avoid.

That worked!

I down loaded that and I can't get to connect to the scanner. The manual isn't much help either on getting it to work.

If using ProScan for writing and reading the Favorites then ensure the scanner is in Mass Storage mode.
If using ProScan for logging, virtual display, remote control, & recordings then the scanner needs to be in Serial Port mode. The scanner is always in Serial Port mode when it's not in Mass Storage mode.
If using the Serial Port mode then perhaps you need the serial driver. Link below. You didn't need the driver for Sentinel as that doesn't use the Serial Port.

{edit} See the Windows Serial Drivers section

All I'm interesting in doing is reading, writing and modifying the Favorites list.
The scanner was in Mass Storage mode and plugged into the same USB port just like when I use Sentinel software with it.

Just for modifying the Favorites list.
Follow these steps to read the existing Favorites List in the scanner:
1. Ensure that the scanner Type is set to BCD436HP
2. Check the Favorites Editor box. It's located in the top menu on the far left side. That will bring up the Favorites Editor.
{edit} I forgot this the first time. 2a. Go to the File menu item and click on New. 2b. Click on Make New Folder then pick a location and name. 2c. Click the OK button.
3. Click the Scanner Read menu item. Ensure that the scanner is in Mass Storage mode first.
4. Your scanner should show in the list. If it does then click the OK button.

Advise if you run into any problems.
