I doubt you are going to find many people that would know, there is probably very few ppl that live in the area and even if they do, i doubt there are many people who listen in on that system

Haven't heard RyeHigh security on their usual talkgroups.

Did they switch or something?

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=5428

can someone lend an ear and advise?
Are you a student at the school ? I've entered it on my radio but haven't heard anything from where I live. Same thing with the recently added Eaton Centre. It could be a low power system meaning you have to be in the immediate area or even "in the building" like the ACC or Rogers Centre. These systems don't need to broadcast city wide. Hope this helps...

RyeHigh ??? Never heard that slang name for it. Though I have heard Slumber Humber or Humber Cottage. lol

TAFL lists the four system channels (including 409.7000) as 3.3dBW (around
2W) ERP at a height of 13m. That's definitely a short-range system. Incidentally
this is a bit of an odd system with the repeater outputs at 409MHz, usually it's
the other way (420MHz).

Something else strange...the DB lists Group IDs with the form 0-00-xxx,
means that some groups are homed on Home Repeater 0; impossible.

I have been listening to RyeHigh Security today.
They seem to be using a new talk group;
1-01-061.

They are not too strong a signal, but they can be heard for
about 2 Kms.
To me they are about the same strength as the Eaton Centre. They are about
2Kms away from me.

You need to learn how to use ID Search / open mode / whatever your scanner calls it.

Yep, they're using 1-61. I guess somebody got their panties in a bunch when they saw their talkgroups listed on Radio Reference. So it's time to change them again...
