Get a Radio Shack credit card and you can get it for 1 year no interest. That can make it harder to talk yourself out of it maybe.

I used a $15 off coupon from the 2010 Entertainment Book. Total w/ tax $309.93.
I'll use the same file that I have in my PSR-600. Then I can listen in stereo.

I bought my first Pro-197 today at 5:30AM when Radio Shack opened. They didn't have a data programming cable. I would like to see a YouTube or RadioReference video on programming these GRE type scanners. After a couple of hours, I took it back to RadShack and they were kind enough to clone it from their display. It took about 15 seconds... GRE or Radio Shack could produce their own video tutorials as well. Which programming software is the most popular? I did order the data PC/IF cable from ScannerMaster. Thanks to Radio Shack for cloning my scanner and now I can listen and have time to try and understand how this programming works. I had the $10 off coupon but forgot all about it until I read this forum. Still $299.99 is a great price.

Try Win500 @ Software for RadioShack PRO-series (PRO-92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 99, 163, 164, 106, 197) and GRE PSR-series (PSR-500, 600, 300, 400, 310, 410) scanners , or PSREdit @ PSREdit - Configuration Editors for the new GRE line of scanners . Both are great programs. Download what you have in your scanner to the program before you make any changes. Both have 30 day trial periods- where they are fully functional. That way you can decide if you like one better than the other.
