A Possible Interesting Monitoring Event
On April 19, 2011 at 10:15 AM, schools, businesses, and individuals from across Indiana have the opportunity to take part in the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut. This event will test the ability of Hoosiers to react and respond to an earthquake in our state. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is partnering with the Central United States Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC), Indiana Department of Education, and the Indiana Geological Survey to help prepare the state for this event.
Indiana will “ShakeOut” on April 19th due to ISTEP testing in schools, while other CUSEC member states will participate on the 28th. IDHS would like to remind Hoosiers that preparing for an earthquake will help prepare for all disasters. Everyone is encouraged to mark their calendar, and take part in the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut on April 19th at 10:15 AM.
