OMG, I’m so sorry.
That’s the risk of replying to a 5 year old reply, my deepest sympathies, I clearly had no clue.

UIDS are in the 1827xxx range, which falls according to Wiki falls in a City of Cleveland Courts and Corrections range. Still unsure what particular facility or agency.TG 56824
Has anyone been able to identify this talkgroup? It sounds like a corrections-related talkgroup, speaking of "houses" along with "control". Regrettably, I have not caught any UIDs.
That’s a good find! I’ve heard similar traffic. I’m not sure I’ve ever caught traffic on 56551 but I sure can try and cross reference.I caught a mention of school and "house x" on 56824. Found a reference to house numbers on the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court site: Visitation - Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court
Do the IDs on this cross with anything on 56551? That's the other Juvenile Detention Center talkgroup shown in GCRCN.
Yep, you won't have any problem listening in cleveland.Hi all, I just ordered a Uniden SDS100. Is this a pretty good radio to let me hear a lot in the Cleveland area? I didn't really want to spend so much, but figured what the heck? The programming is supposed to be relatively easy due to the zip code feature.
Thanks! Looking forwards to trying it out. A few years ago, I bought a new scanner (to replace one that I'd had for quite a while), but I didn't realize there isn't much to listen to on analog anymore.Yep, you won't have any problem listening in cleveland.
I got the scanner, but I'm finding that it's picking up transmissions from far away. I'm in the western Cleveland suburbs, so was hoping to pickup Fairview Park, Rocky River and others in that area. It seems that most of the traffic I'm picking up is from the east side, like Beachwood, Solon, Shaker, etc. I did hear Lakewood, which is right around the corner, but most everything else has been out east. Any ideas why? I have it tuned to the Ohio MARCS-IP system at the moment.Yep, you won't have any problem listening in cleveland.
Thanks, but the weird thing is, I'm not picking up much traffic at all. I have Ohio MARCS as the system, and dept is Cuyahoga Co Law (which looks like it includes 18 channels). Almost nothing to hear?Cuyahoga county is a simulcast system, so the entire county is receivable within the limits of the simulcast system. If you want to not hear them, just block them out.
SpaceForce - Cuyahoga County is comprised of 58 individual communities using one of 5 systems, MARCS, GCRCN, Parma, P25, DMR and Conventional. A couple communities have split their police and fire between MARCS, GCRCN and Parma P25. My suggestion to you is to study the 5 systems and determine who is using what system. The communities are grouped in clusters based on their physical location. Once you have a grasp of the layout you will be more successful in properly programming your scanner to hear what you want. It is not a simple task but by looking at each system and who is using it will help you program what you want to hear. Thanks, but the weird thing is, I'm not picking up much traffic at all. Thanks! Yeah, I'm still trying to get a handle on all this. Much more complex than just scanning with an analog. For now, I just input my lat/long into the scanner, and it supposedly loaded up the proper groups from the database.SpaceForce - Cuyahoga County is comprised of 58 individual communities using one of 5 systems, MARCS, GCRCN, Parma, P25, DMR and Conventional. Absolutely and of course some communities are using the Big E which complicates matters and also many communities share one Talkgroup for police so unless you know their unit numbers or are familiar with their Radio ID's you cannot be sure who is using the talkgroup at any one time. Thanks! One thing is for sure, I'm getting WAY more traffic than I ever got on my analog scannerAbsolutely and of course some communities are using the Big E which complicates matters and also many communities share one Talkgroup for police so unless you know their unit numbers or are familiar with their Radio ID's you cannot be sure who is using the talkgroup at any one time.
Remtronix REM-842SAlso, if anyone has an SDS100, what antenna do you use? I have a Diamond RH77CA, which receives up to 900 Mhz or so, but I guess it's tuned for the lower bands. What I be better off getting one of the REM antennas? I figured out how to see the RSSI, and with most of the traffic I'm receiving now, the signal strength is like -90 to -95 dBm (sometimes into the -80s).
Do you hear much from Fairview Park? I think they are in the Westshore group. I wasn't hearing much traffic, if any, on there yesterday when I tuned in. Maybe it was because I was using the stock antenna? I found the same group on Broadcastify, and I heard activity through there that was not coming in over my scanner.I get all the western suburbs from North Olmsted. Lots of traffic. My SDS100 uses a Remtronix antenna.
